Exploring LMS

Introduction: This canvas course is designed for teachers with 0-4 years of experience. In the past, I've been able to coach teachers in person but this course will be a fully online course that targets beginning of the year hot spots that will allow their year to flow better. The focuses have been chosen based on a survey presented to new teachers on campus. Each topic will be buildable and will be revisited as the weeks progress.

Learning Goals and Results:

  • Learners will be able to gain mastery on target topics that will allow their understanding of their content, classroom management and overall efficacy as a teacher to be rated as highly effective teacher by the end of the year. When exploring each topic, learners will be able to gain valuable insight on how to utilize the given information and apply it into their own classroom and teaching philosophy.

New teachers with less than 4 years of experience at a specific campus in Houston ISD.D. I intend for the course to be a hybrid of synchronous and asynchronous learning with a definite end date. The course will be available to be taken multiple times and access to course once completed will be indefinite.

Learners will create and upload video demonstrating exemplars of each topic presented over the course. Each video will represent mastery of each topic represented in the course or will be reviewed and given feedback along with coaching to implement changes and resubmitted for final feedback on mastery of topic.
